Upcoming demonstrations are planned for:
Thurs, 8/20/09, 5:00-6:30, Faden's & Bryn Mawr Pizza, Lancaster Ave, Bryn Mawr
Sat, 8/22/09, 12-2pm, Rita's Water Ice, Sproul Road, Broomall
The goal of our efforts is to raise awareness of all residents and let business owners know that we are committed to the preservation of our community. To date we have staged 12 demonstrations in Haverford and now one in Marple we have over 1000 names on the Haverford online petition, and over 500 names on this email distribution list. We are working on a new and improved website with more ways to become more informed, organized and connected.
Our demonstrations are making progress:

Your voice DOES count! This is NOT a done deal, and yes it COULD happen. Please come out, if only for a short time to show support for your community. Bring your friends, your neighbors, the more people the bigger the statement. Keep calling the property owners to let them know you oppose the billboards, write to your Senator, your Representative, write to the papers. WE can make a difference in the outcome, this is our home!
PLEASE plan to attend the next Zoning Board Hearings:
Marple’s first hearing is scheduled 9/16, 7pm @ Paxon Hollow Middle School
Haverford: September 17th @ Lynnewood School
Springfield’s 5th hearing is scheduled for 9/24, 7:30pm @ the Springfield Township Building on Powell Road
Residents are given an opportunity to speak around 10:00pm, do NOT need to register.
Also, it is important to attend our neighboring township’s Zoning Board Hearings to support other residents who have been lending Haverford Twp support.
**If you are a resident in close proximity of any of the proposed sites and you have not addressed the your Zoning Board already, please consider attending a meeting and communicate your concerns, as your testimony will have weight in the public record which is very important when and if this goes to court. Speak to the health, welfare and safety issues as well as other concerns. If you are shy about public speaking, you will only be supported by your fellow residents.
If you need more information, just ask and we will try to provide it! Ideas, input and suggestions are welcome.
