26th Annual CROP Walk
Sunday, April 10th at 1 pm
Haverford Township residents of all ages are invited to join in the 26th annual Crop Walk, on Sunday, April 10, at 1 pm. The CROP Walk is sponsored locally by the Haverford Clergy Association, to help fight hunger here at home and globally. The 2.5 mile walk begins at the Grime Center at St. Denis. Walkers will enjoy a walk through the heart of Havertown while raising money to help feed hungry people.
Tim Denny and Rev. Mary Jane Kirby of Union Methodist Church are the local CROP Walk coordinators. Over the past 25 years over $125,000 has been raised by local walkers and their sponsors. "Our goal is to have healthy fun and help to alleviate hunger at home and around the world" said Denny. "We want to make it easy to participate. This is a great activity for families, youth groups, girl scouts, cub scouts, sports teams or caring individuals. Walkers can pick up sponsor donation envelopes at their church or from Mary Jane or me; or simply get sponsors and bring the money with them to the Grimes Center on Sunday. We will give them a receipt for their funds.

Jack McDonald Dedication
For those who are able to attend, you are invited to attend a brief dedication of the area of Darby Creek Valley Park, at the entrance to Merry Place, in memory of former commissioner Jack McDonald, on Friday, April 8 at 3 pm.
Commissioner McDonald was instrumental in acquiring the old RHM property in 1976. He was also very supportive of the efforts to create Merry Place, designed for families of people with disabilities in 1998.
We regret the short notice but this was the only day/time the McDonald family was all in the area.
We hope you can join us.

Flea Market
Hilltop Civic Association
Flea Market
May 14th, 9-2
Save the Date! Please join your neighbors on May 14 (rain date May 21) for a Havertown Flea Market. The Hilltop Civic Association is planning the event - to be held at the corner of Eagle/Drexel Ave and Steel Road. We'll be out there from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No early birds please!
"Vendors" Needed!
Are you a local artisan or craftsperson with something to sell? Or maybe you haven't started your spring cleaning and need motivation? Have a garage full of stuff you need to sell? We are looking for you! Our large spaces begin at just $10 for Hilltop Civic Association members and $25 for non-members. And yes - you can rent multiple spaces. All spots are given on a first-come, first-serve basis - so hurry! Sorry, we cannot accept politically-themed vendors or anyone looking to sell food.
If you are interested in a space or would like more information, please email the Hilltop Civic Association at hilltopcivic@verizon.net.
