A Havertown Family Needs Your Help!

Dear Neighbor,

Early yesterday morning, a family of 7, who reside in the Llanerch section of Haverford Township, had their home devastated by fire. They lost almost everything, but are thankful no one was seriously injured. See this link for the complete story: http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news%2Flocal&id=7835491 .

Because this family is a part of our community, we ask for your support in helping them get back on their feet. The Llanerch Fire Company will be taking donations of clothes, toiletries, toys, as well as monetary gifts, from now until Sunday, December 12th. The children are teenagers, but any size clothing will be accepted. Anything that does not fit will be donated to a local homeless shelter. Gift cards would be very helpful. Checks can be made out to the Llanerch Fire Company.

Drop off your donations at:

Llanerch Fire Company
107 West Chester Pike
Havertown, PA 19083

Thank you in advance, and please feel free to forward this so we can get the word out.

We wish you health and happiness this Holiday Season and in the New Year. All the best to you and your family,

The Haverford Township Civic Council

Haverford Zoning Board Hearing

THIS TUESDAY:

Haverford Zoning Board Hearing
RE: Billboards
December 7th, 7:00 pm
Haverford Township Building
2325 Darby Road, Havertown

Not many in attendance at the last hearing. Folks, this is a 2-3 hour sacrifice per month to show your concern for the township and support the Commissioners decision to fight this type of urban sprawl. Four Haverford residents have requested Party Status, decision expected. Also, the continued testimony of Gregg Richardson, traffic safety expert. He basically compared Penndot crash statistics on WCP and Lancaster Ave to Upper Darby stats and feels billboards do not cause enough distraction to increase accidents.
