No Billboards

Springfield
Zoning Board
Hearing
RE: Billboards
Thursday
November 18th, 7:30 pm
Springfield Township Building
50 Powell Road, Springfield

EVERY VOICE COUNTS

Hearty attendance at the hearings is necessary to display our UNITED opposition to these proposed billboards and to show our Commissioners that we support this fight. How do the Commissioners know you still care about this if you don't come to the hearings? How do our State elected officials know this is something that is important if you do not tell them, REPEATEDLY?

The Outdoor Advertising Industry $banks$ on our short memories and busy lives. Please make it a priority to attend these hearings and express your opinion.
Shy about public speaking? You will only be supported by your fellow residents.

Excerpt from the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Article 9, Section 908.3
3) The parties to the hearing shall be the municipality, any person affected by the application (YOU!!) who has made timely (NOT TOO LATE but time is short) appearance of record before the board, and any other person including civic or community organizations permitted to appear by the board. The board shall have power to require that all persons who wish to be considered parties enter appearances in writing (Email us, we have a sample) on forms provided by the board for that purpose (They don't require anything - email us for details!!).

Excerpt from the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Article 9, Section 908.5
5) The parties shall have the right to be represented by counsel (not necessary at the Zoning Board Level) and shall be afforded the opportunity to respond and present evidence and argument and cross-examine adverse witnesses on all relevant issues.

Will the billboard be visible from your property, your park, your church? Consider requesting "party" status. This is different than public comment, as a party, you will be included in any notice of appeals and/or settlements and should you choose to do so, allows you the opportunity to appeal court rulings. As a "party" you have OPTIONS! Ray McKinney, owner of Absolute Realty and three residents were granted party status.
