Family Fun Day

Family Fun Day is upon us! Please join us (Oakmont-South Ardmore Civic Association) on Sunday, May 23nd from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. for a barbecue and socializing at Grasslyn Park/American Legion Post lawn. BYO….bikes, blankets, etc. (?!). Anyone can come, so bring your neighbors and a side dish (odd numbered homes) or dessert (even numbered homes). Members and non-members are more than welcome. We’ll have a bounce house, fire truck, pretzels, sodas, hotdogs and hamburgers, a 50/50 raffle, and more.

Bring your bikes & helmets to ride around in the blocked-off street. Also, Jonathan Newman from our own Havertown Bicycle Shop will stop by from 4:30-6:00 to give free helmet adjustments & adjustment advice to adults and kids (anyone can bring their helmet and participate). He sees many kids with unsafe helmets sliding around on their heads, so this is a great opportunity to brush up on bike safety.

This event has been well-attended and much fun in the past, so let’s keep the tradition going! If you can spare some time to help set up or clean up, please let me know!

The same weekend of Family Fun Day—Saturday, May 22nd—there will be a neighborhood yard sale. Feel free to post signs at the end of your street to direct traffic as well. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. . So clean out your basements, tidy up those old, unused baby items, and make a little extra cash for summer activities.
